I love your videos! The perspective you get with that sky cam is brilliant. What do use and how to you get it to follow you so precisely?

If you have a look at the last video on the previous page you can see a little of the quad copter. Basically the passenger in the vehicle has First Person View goggles on (little screens showing a live video feed from from a camera on the quad copter) while he sits there with the remote controls flying it.

Quad copters are the most popular for this sort of thing as they are very stable.

Downsouth, care to share any more info about your particular setup? Been theinking about doing the same for a while now but have just never got around to it. Been flying RC planes and helis for years, and had a key chain cam on on a FunJet (190 km/hr piece of foam for anyone wondering) but never gone the next step into FPV. The police / coast guard have just started trialling an FPV plane - reckon they can get up to an hours flying time and several hundred km radius. That would be a cool job.

6 chanel transmitter $400
Frame, motors, speed controlers, main board, reciever $300
Camera, Gopro $300
Ground station (Optional) $500
FPV (goggles) $350

Being able to fly it - Priceless

Scotty (my son) pretty much made this from scratch with parts from Hobbie King and a few other sources. He learned a lot from other you tube instructional videos
