It was a few days ago now but had to drive to QLD for a few things and booked the Grand in with Stu (Murchison Products) for a Tune and Exhaust, man what a difference.

It's a much better tow truck and it really punches all the weight that my Grand has around with ease now, very happy.

I gather you are very happy with the light output from your later post. Can I ask a few questions?

- Brand
-Size (length, watts, lumens etc)
- Price
-Where did you get them from
- Do they have provide distance or mainly broad light
- How did you connect them to the bumper bar. Did you have to take the bumper off or was it easy, and sturdy?

Many thanks - they look fantastic!

Love the Nitto's, will be getting another set to replace these soon. If i could get them in 31's they would be on my XJ as well :D Mud is no question, and they grip rock like its sandpaper.

Somewhere between a bi-plane and rotary hammer drill for the noise :D

Ratios are awesome offroad, on road still havent got the computers working yet, Stu is running down more options. Goes into Tranny limp mode after 3rd gear.

Brand is mongrel LEDs, straight from china I expect.
20" 12x10watt cree LEDs 120 w
Quoted at 10320 lumen
Mine is a spot but pointed a bit down like in the photo it provides good spread and you can run it when in convoy ,
Mounted thru bumper with a large panel washers on the inside, took grill out to mount, easy, surprisingly sturdy.
Cost, $220 delivered but I picked it up because I wanted it for Saturday night.
Very happy with it, looked just as good as the more expensive brand name lights some ran on Saturday .

Today I put 245/70/R17's (General Grabber AT2's) on the WH 07 Grand.

Nice 1 inch gain on top of the CRDSTU lift.. Took her out to the pines.. all went quite well.
Next on the list:
Bullbar (Suggestions?)
Light bar, decent roof rack, remove spare and put onto roof rack.
Build either a drop down and out toolbox kit to go where spare used to be or a large watertank with a compressor..

Congrats on the new rubber and lift.

What oil did you use, those quadra drive II diff's can be sensitive.

wilsonjeep 13-08-2013 07:18 PM

Penrite full synthetic Pro 80w140. Always try and use Penrite, have had good luck with their gear in the past, hope this is good!

Clarky 13-08-2013 07:36 PM

Should be fine, I only asked as some have used factory oil and the friction modifier hadn't been added causing diff chatter.
Penrite has modifier ;)

Hey Wilson I researched for a while and decided to go with Penrite 80w140 aswell I have had good experiences with this brand and was a little worried about getting the fiction modifier amount correct this oil already has it added to it so no need to add anything else I have had it in for 8000k now with no problems or chatta.

Slipped into a rut, reversed out, bumper hanging off, a tree branch placed in the rut buy a mate to help, it kicked up & caught the inside of the bumper and you see the end result

will patch it up until I get a bull bar or  maybe an insurance claim :?:

Finally fitted the 4xguard real sliders which Ive had maturing in the garage for a year. Managed to get them on with the LRA tank in place.

Clarky 09-09-2013 10:11 AM

Changed the O2 sensor on the CRD, now seeing 9L per 100km (Hwy) on dash. That's with 245/75/17 A/T Wranglers! & I actually travel 104km for every 100km on the dash. That's about 1 litre better then I have ever got (using dodgy jeep trip metre;) ).
Heading to Philip Island in a couple of weeks, will get a better idea of fuel economy then.

JamesLaugesen 30-09-2013 11:42 AM

Changed rear diff pinion seal, coolant, trans filters and fluid, handbrake shoes and had a friend fix a cracked weld on my super-cat muffler.
Ticked a lot of boxes :)

With the trans filters and fluid how much fluid did it take?

His is a HEMI also, when I did mine, I did a full flush and ended up using around 17 quarts (iirc) to have 13 clean quarts inside. If half flush, I reckon 6 or 7 quarts is enough, as there's no wastage.

Clarky 30-09-2013 05:47 PM

Ok, I think I over filled mine by 2 litres, re-did it today & will get the dealer to check on Thursday(stupid idea no dip stick). Have ordered a B&M deep pan and temp gauge & I think I will make up a dip stick to leave in the tube.

Yeah, yours is a diesel, I'm not sure what the figures are, did you check the service manual?

Just saw that Briteway got ya covered. But yep I'm a hemi too, so no good for you. I only did a drain but left it overnight, it seems to have taken ~7.5'ish Litres so far.

The drain plug in that deep pan will be great!

Service manual says 7.4 Litres for filter and fill but that is way to much.
I only got 3.5 litres out of it the first time I dropped the pan & changed the filter but I didn't leave it over night.

Wow! Maybe Valpacer can help you here, his is diesel.

valpacer 30-09-2013 07:42 PM

Off the top of my head its only 4-5l if you dont flush the torque converter, and around 8l for a full fill.

The last time i did mine it was only around 4l, but that was just a drain and fill checking for water.

Did a drain and fill today measured 5L, put back in 3L, from your drain & fill I may need a bit more. Went for a drive (20min engine temp 88°) and checked my levels was 70mm

Thanks for the links

Fitted new EBC front & rear brake pads thanks to MidnightMods.
Much better feel and no fade.

Thought I'd do them before they get caked with Toolangi mud tomorrow :D

Cheers, Craig

With clearance on articulation and full lock?
Triple-check clearance with the pinch weld behind the front wheel well inner guards, and with the pinchweld for the rear door seals.
They can ruin a tyre pretty quickly, especially if you hit a few sharp dips in a road at speed.

My 265/70R17 MTs have chunks missing from the tread lugs, and that's with a ~50mm lift and AEV Pintlers.
