It'll be interesting to see if any press articles are put out once repairs are completed & the vehicle is running again.

I doubt we'll see it, only bad news and fake news make good press. I'd love to be wrong though!

Ha, all I got from this article is the pictures from that eBay motor. Dump pipe design is pretty good. :)

And can now see how it all goes together coolant lines exhaust etc. No wonder it is hard to get a good oil level reading. That dipstick tube sure travels a long way.

I think people have to accept that as vehicles become more advanced, there will be more issues. As it turns out, this particular Jeep is 7 years old, has 180,000 km and is well out of warranty. It’s a bit of bad luck but I have no idea why they didn’t seek out a second opinion. I’d have done that before whingeing in the media.

I bought a 2014 pentastar knowing that I was an early adopter of a few technologies such as the electrically assisted steering etc, so issues and recalls are just part of the game.

When I was in sales there was a saying that if you have a good experience you’ll tell 10 people and if you have a bad experience you’ll tell 100.

Now there are plenty of people who’ve had bad experiences with a Jeep but I would argue that most of those issues stem from the utterly negligent actions dealerships and FCA itself, and I’ve experienced both.

As far as the vehicle is concerned, outside the alternator failure it has been extremely reliable for almost 6 years now, and the best car I’ve ever owned, and the price or entry for what you get is simply unmatched.

I’d probably by another too if it came down to it, but I would not trust any jeep dealership.

People on Facebook and social media love to stick the boot in but just let them i say. You’re not going to change their mind so don’t bother.

LATEST UPDATE:
The manufacturer has promised to fix the Grand Cherokee but its owners are nervous the car will leave them stranded again.

“After talking with Danny Lawrence and assessing his vehicle, we’ve offered to repair the vehicle at no cost to the family,” FCA chief executive Kevin Flynn said in a statement provided to news.com.au.

No one would want to touch it and I will be stuck with it after all the media attention!!

Who went to the media in the first place??

That old double edged sword.
