My First Jeep 2 Attachment(s)
I just bought this Jeep after saving for 5 years. I hope all will go well - it has 142,000 KM's on the clock and seems to be in great shape. I would like to get a a Addco bar fitted to the rear after researching why it sways so much. Does anyone know where I can buy one in Tasmania and get it fitted with new bushes etc.
That's Mum and Dad checking it out with me in the yard before I bought her (paid $12,000) Thank you Ian |

http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...ad.php?t=77614 Not to take away from Chumbys sale, as the Addco's are suppose to be good definatley worth it at his price, a set of OME springs & shocks really clean it up - IMHO, & will give you a bit a lift too 1-2"". I would recommend this if you don't plan on lifting any higher. If you think you will want to be lifting higher than 2", better to do it once the right way (do a search here Iron Rock Offroad 3" is popular) and you'll save money. Enjoy!! |
Rear Swaybar 5 Attachment(s)

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome. I don't want to go off topic from this thread, but just to let you know if you can't get hold of an Addco rear sway bar locally 2nd hand (you'll have to import it new otherwise, and will cost about $400 inc shipping & x-change rate), there's a new aussie brand called "Superior Suspension" who have recently taken over the "Whiteline" factory (Whiteline now completely outsource their manufacturing, and rebadge other manufacturers products). Superior Suspension can make all the products in the old Whiteline catalogue and this includes a 1" 'adjustable' rear swaybar for the WJ/WG... I have one and it works great! Compared to the old one: http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...8&d=1226711845 http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...9&d=1226711845 http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...1&d=1226711845 Fitted: http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...2&d=1226711845 The part number: http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...3&d=1226712056 Also your rear shocks (or pretty much your shocks in general) will most likely be shot by now, and even when new, they're so soft that they allow a fare bit of movement/sway from the rear end. |

Quality all seems good, trackbar heavy duty etc. Had to replace the front driveshaft and would like to get longer front shocks and possibly shorter rear. It drives fairly well but still need to adjust the control arms and put the a-arm spacer in. Definately needs bigger tyres - hard to keep up with a patrol on 33's, another on 35's and a landcruiser on 33's, just because of the extra diff clearance they have in muddy ruts. Might look at upgrading when the new tyre size laws come in |
After my lift and stuff... 5 Attachment(s)
Finally I feel my Jeep is worthy of gracing the AJOR webpages...
After 9 months of owning it, this is what it has come too, and I love it way more than when I first bought it. Thanks too everyone on this forum, after much searching, reading everyone's threads/posts, and sometimes asking my own stupid questions, I believe I've been able to build a fairly capable offroader while at the same time having having somthing pretty sweet onroad as well. Stock: (gotta love those tyres...) http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...1&d=1230687288 Now: http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...2&d=1230687288 Some pics at the Mundaring Powerlines yesterday: I need some longer endlinks... http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...3&d=1230687288 http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...4&d=1230687288 http://ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/atta...5&d=1230687288 |
