Thanks for that, like others I was unaware that Discussion was not permitted on for sale adds.

RULES for AJOR Classifieds READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING
Hi all,

Update : May 2014

9. The Market Place forums are no place for Chit Chat, stay on topic! If you are not buying or interested in buying the item then DO NOT post in the thread, likewise for the Wanted Forum. Your posts will be deleted and if you are a repeat offender you may be banned for a period of time at the discretion of the moderators.

10. All offers to be made by private message (pm)only do not post offers to sellers in the for sale forum.

I don't know if your post has an error in your 'copy/paste', but neither of these rules were updated in 'May 2014' as your post seems to suggest (intentional or not), they have been in place for as long as I have been a member of this site.

Only rule 6 was altered on that date .
This is for when Your item is sold you can close the thread with sold in the thread title , this was put in place so that users could see that an item was sold without having to open the thread , previous to that mods would need to go into a thread and edit it putting sold in the thread title .

I am not trying to be difficult. I am not the only one who is & has had difficulty following.

There you go you answered your own inquiry ;)
But seriously the rules about FS section have been there for a while, whilst we don't all have to like or argree its the rules. Plus in the past there used to be some threads that just went massively off topic and just diluted the purpose of the original thread.
So like it or lump it the B&W approach does work in the majority.

& yes its a rule that is seldom used ~ only on special occasions or 90% of the FS threads would be in trouble.
BTW thanks for the admission that a mistake was made & removing yampets post. The seller did try & contact him to no avail.

JimmyB you will probably need to lock this thread so that the 'famous last word' effect doesn't reverberate on and on .....
