Is worth asking Jeep if you get to keep the old pump. I'm thinking the replacement pump (trade/genuine OEM) assembly will be an exchange unit with a core charge ie: they keep the old pump & send it away for repair.

Update: power steering pump replaced and $2100 later no issues, great news! Dealer said they hadn't done one before.

Spoke to dealer about approaching FCA for a refund outside of warranty, she said try but I don't like your chances. And that they were struggling to get anything out of FCA at the moment in warranty. Wow you wouldn't want a potential customer hearing that FCA won't honor their warranties!

So I contacted FCA and they said I had to get the dealer to make a "goodwill application" on my behalf. Emailed the dealer this, and they said they can't do anything on my behalf and to speak to FCA.

So either FCA or the dealers giving me the run around now.
