Opps looks like I have put my foot in it, sorry. For some reason I thought the nv249 had a gerotor pump similar to nv247 and I have just checked this and found I was WRONG..so maybe your mates advice is on the money, the atf fluid may be ok. The 424 is mainly used because of the gerotor pump system. Hope I didnt cause any drama,,,good luck and all the best.

Worst case, you need some minor mods to the shifter arm and swapping the input shaft.

Yes thanks Adrian. I read 2 'how to ' videos and I learned very quickly that the swap wasn't plug and play. I'm still working on this leak, but its been cold and windy, not conducive to working under the car.

Slowly getting the old girl ready for RWC. We're booked in for camping over chrissy so I'd better get moving. I've just got the battery clamp to sort, the roof lining replaced plus a wash and polish.

I couldn't get the rear wiper to work, despite taking the wiper motor out and bending the contacts out a bit. Motor ran when bench tested, circuit board make all good clicks when tested, 12v on the input wires. I rang the mobile RWC man and he said not to worry about it, as long as it has a good wiper blade it doesn't have to work! Sweet. The irony of it all is that I tested it today and it works perfectly.

Subject to passing the RWC it's FINISHED! Only took 6 months. Curious to know if the auto works as it should, and the cruise control, and the missus wants the A/C to work. As you all know its never really finished.

Pics to come.

Yay, passed the roadworthy first go. Examiner said he has rarely seen a Jeep in such good condition for its age.

Congrats! :D
Now off to the trails :D
