Show us a pick of your RC Crawler sitting/flexed..

Flex pics need to be driven to the position not placed.

It's all good and well suggesting such a thread and making such rules; where are your pics?! This is my place holder post as I've only just ordered my SCX10 and goodies within the last hour so will edit this at a later date and add images.

Edit: you'll be pleased to know I've bought a TJ shell for the new toy...

Makes a big difference doesnt it. When you setup your suspension correctly you should be able to get complete flex with the weight of the vehicle.

FYI I have achieved this but not running coils on mine. I also use rubber bump stops on the shocks and the vehicle sits on them when flat. This allows for a complete droop system which also gives a great LCOG.

my memory card is playing up so i cant get photo's off my phone atm.. but when i work it out ill be sure to post it up.
at the moment i just have a stock losi night crawler but i plan to get ALOT smaller tires and rims for it and get the cherokee body on. then get a better servo and take it more down to scale!

CRDSTU 25-06-2010 11:10 AM

I'll get some up by tonight

stroked 28-06-2010 07:42 PM

shit phone quality.

my plan is to put smaller tires on and i was going to use some fuel line over the inside of the shock as bumpstops so it doesnt fook the cherokee body and then i want it more to scale

CRDSTU 28-06-2010 08:42 PM

Mate as soon as I sawe them I had to have a set, god knows I cant afford the real thing at the moment so may as well have a mini set :p! I got them from the States when the AU$ was like 95cts so they were pretty well priced.
Amazing quality and pretty heavy for an alloy! Produces more tyre bag so I'll have to take some chassis weight out now.

HSP 1/10 Crawler (2 shells)

I've modified my sons Chevy Avalanche shell (removed the front bumper and rear bumper) as I don't like the other one. It's working but still contacts on full flex. The plan is to make some bump stops to prevent contact with the wheel arch.

Yeah yeah.. I didn't want to repost this pic as it's in another thread but here you go. It's stock atm, I am getting longer shocks & softer coils in a few weeks then changing it to a 4 link front and rear. Keeping the 1.9's... the dingo will stay.

Sorry, I may be blind (drunk?); did you post some pics somewhere, if not, please do and I'll have a ponder. Had to do a couple of mods to mount up my shell recently.

Just stickered up my Honcho TJ tonight so will have to resist posting pics here until it's actually driving (yet to waterproof & complete electronics).

Cheers.

Yeah, the 2.2's are the go for sure. I've now painted the bead locks black, I think the blue looked gay. I've also got about 125g of lead weight on each rim... seems to be a good weight ;).

I've also changed the rear to a 4 link setup.. the flex is a little smoother. It's also moved the rear wheels back so longer wheel base which is great. I'll probably do the front but not just yet.

I've changed the front steering to alloy and painted it black (looks the goods).

These are the first action pics of mine. Just swapped out the honcho bumpers for these complete with lights- I now can't get onto the bike tyres from the flat (had to climb over my shoe), funny thing is I thought the approach angle would be better with this bumper.

For those that didn't read my other pic whore post with the below images the bike tyres will be part of the Jambo crawler track - should be fun with a bit of moisture!

I have had way too many R/Cs including 1:8 monster trucks with ridiculously over sized tyres, I'm really enjoying the idea of scale for a change. As it happens I do have a full set of 2.2 tyres and wheels to suit, have had them for a couple of years (on the off chance I got a crawler) - doubt I'll fit them to the TJ.

Fair enough, I just thought that 1.9's didn't look very scale on a 1:8 scale shell. Just my 2 cents.

My 2.2's look like crap on my Dingo.. I've now changed them to a different 2.2 that's got a more realistic look.
