Mopar tow ball height Was interested to see a poster on fb posed the question to Jeep Australia regard flipping the Mopar tow bar to gain extra height for his semi offroad caravan.
Evidently Jeep stated you should not do it . Im wondering if it is a liability thing as if you over reverse there will be no back stop and damage your car or is it a structural thing. Seems like a solid lump of steel to me and have towed heaps with it like that! |
More like “If u don’t have a clue, just say no”
In my view if you have to stop as quick as possible then the tow bar twisting moment will be the reverse to normal operation. If your trailer has brakes then it should not be that much of an issue |
Some YES some NO, depends who made the thing and Jeep would have no idea who made it so the safe answer is NO I would surmise, even though mine has a Mopar badge, there is nothing to say if it can be flipped, it has a hollow bar so I only use it for the boat or 6x4, towing the van I use a full steel shank which can be adjusted or flipped to get the right height, either way its not a plough like some use........
