WK2 CRD-Flash tune result - No Chips to be seen!

1 Attachment(s)
Here is the result of having my car's ECU reprogrammed on my 3.0ltr CRD WK2.

The increase in percentages are 20% more power and 23% more torque which, when you do the rough math makes for 213kw & 677nm... :D

The car feels amazing and smashes all previous chips I have fitted and tried.

Even the transmission feels better even though transmission alterations are not currently available.

The resulting economy is still yet to be established but even cruising around in it I'm hardly even touching the throttle yet the car seems to not care about hills and the little instant fuel bar is hovering around 6lt... More info to follow.

Where was that done? Nevermind, actually red the graph haha

Since the dyno record states a max power of 152.8kW, where does the 213kW come from?

The power figure the car is rated too is 177kw and 550nm. These figures are measured at the flywheel of the engine ie before the gearbox, drivetrain, wheels etc. When a car is put on a chassis dyno like this, the power is measure at the tyres, there is significant drivetrain loss and that's why even when the car was standard it made 127kw at the wheels, not 177kw. I hope that makes sense.

So how do you know it's 213kw? is there a formula - I don't know much about these things.

Hi, basically I divide the final dyno power (152.8) figure by the before dyno figure (127) which gives me 20%. I add the 20% to the advertised Flywheel figure and I get 212.9kw.

I also use a figure of 1.35 x the dyno figure to get approx flywheel figure, this has proven it self to be pretty close on the Horsepower Factory dyno.

To support this:

127 x 1.35 = 171 (177 standard)
152.8 x 1.35 = 206 (213 claimed tuned)

I hope this explains it.

Do you have the five speed or the eight speed box

Five speed is only rated to 570Nm whereas the eight speed is 700Nm

Although I should imagine that these figures would be conservative
