Do you use an Ad Blocker on Ausjeep?

After trying to modify the header to encourage members to turn off AdBlockers we have now scrapped that idea in favor of a broader stick, which is limited content to those who use an AdBlocker.

Now we are aware that this is going to offend, so let me shed some light on things.

1. The Ausjeep forum is a FREE service and all aspects of using the site is 100% FREE for the user.

2. It costs money to run this site, as it has for the last 14 years

With this new limiting for Adblocking users, we are looking at working around a solution whereby 'Gold' members will have the ability to see limited advertising content from Google, they will still be shown 'Vendor' ads, but the Google ads will be limited.

To put this in place is going to take considerable time and resources, and at NO point will Ausjeep ever become a 'Pay Per View' situation, it will always be 100% FREE

We expect there will be backlash, and for that I am sorry, this is something that was never wanted but with the advertising market deteriorating the way it is now days this was an inevitable step.

You support on this would be appreciated.

I am trying to disable my Ad Blocker for this domain. When I navigate these pages it wants to re establish itself. Am I missing something?
I have set it to "don't run on this domain".

Well, I thought I was, but it turns out that it's disabled already! :p

I only really started using one when I started having to wait for a minute or so for all the ads to load before I could read content on the page, (on some other sites). It was still slow after that so I also installed NoScript, then whitelisted sites I wanted to allow.

OH boo , please tell me on what site does not have adds ?

for the world of information , has turned into a sell sell sell world .

I remember a time where watching cricket was great , no adds , no banter screams no trumpet sounds and waves of jibber , now ? what sport has not got this ?
when will people understand that the world has grown some what , and that times have moved. there are settings to allow things to go through , and to block , some just turn it on fully , but you can allow a WEB ADDRESS of your choice to allow the content. if you think that a web address is a free thing , try running one , for the cost of web design is a big deal in money making for IT , and ISP cost for hosting can be dear. and just those two things alone can cost a fair bit .

for as soon as a site gets the traffic , the sooner the ISP and host so on would be jumping onto his back with the dollar signs rolling in there eyes. it would be a huge headache. so stop running "in private browser" chrome might be a good browser , but set the setting correctly for the site, and if your browser goes mad LEARN the settings of it.

Too many precious people carry on as though they are paying to use the site. If they dont like your changes Jimmyb, they can talk with their feet & we know that wont happen.
