Mopar towbar

2 Attachment(s)
Hello I'm David new to this forum.

I've recently purchased a KK limited 2012 and have bought a second hand genuine Mopar towbar manufactured by best Bars in New Zealand for the Australian market.

Does anyone have any pictures of how it mounts up to the Cherokee ?
I realise the tow hook needs to be removed .
I've got 6 bolts but 2 bolts go into a plate with a captive nut and I'm just a bit confused where that plate is supposed to go unless you need to drill out 2x new holes closest to the rear of the vehicle as all other towbars I've seen for this vehicle use the existing 6 bolt holes in the frame but this towbar only seems to use 4 of those mounting points.

Also there is a thin sheet metal skirt under the plastic bumper I am assuming that needs to be removed ?
Does anyone still have any instructions for this install ?
Does the rear bumper need to be cut very much ?

I am hoping this towbar will work with a oversized 245/70/17 tyre but I am concerned it might not fit ?
I prefer this style bar as it sits higher which would give a better department angle.

Cheers ,

David.

How did you go with this? I don't know what towbar I have but the tongue/50mm ball hitch, has a Mopar label.

Do you need some photos?

I have the Mopar towbar for my 2010 KK.

I got it used and tried to fit it without success, the mounting holes do not line up. I dont know how the last owner managed to get it to fit.

Yes there is 3 bolt holes on each side of the towbar, the tow hook needs to be removed as that is one of the mounting hole.

I ended up drilling another hole in the towbar to make it fit.

The spare tyre WILL NOT fit after this towbar is installed, I will have to carry a half deflated spare tyre and air compressor with me when I need the spare.https://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...69a7128032.jpghttps://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...69a82aa61e.jpghttps://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...69a9437cc7.jpghttps://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...69aa5afcd5.jpghttps://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...69ab8a55c5.jpghttps://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...69ac8a6739.jpghttps://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum...69af6cfa14.jpg
