PentaStar Owners - your help needed !

As you know there is a replacement parts sticky for the JK.... and thanks to members contributions its become quite detailed mostly for the 3.8 but quite a bit of squeezel stuff as well.

HOWEVER...... with the absence of a PentaStar workshop manual, new trouble codes etc aren't readily available and there isn't much info on belts sparkplugs, filters etc etc.

So PentaStar owners, if you want to easily find non OE replacement parts and save some coin - please contribute when your able ;).

Thanks, MightyMouse

I have noticed that the service book that was supplied with my jeep is for the 3.8 not the 3.6. Jeep promised me the right one but when it came in it was the same. Does anybody out there have one for the 3.6 that details what goes on at each service? I know mine says change the spark plugs at 48k but on the American forums they say that they are 100k plugs for instance.

Interesting will have a look at mine today. My WK2 had it's plugs done at 48k if that makes any difference??

Found a copy on the American jeep site of the owners manual for the 3.6. It is a bit different scheduling to the one that came in my glovebox for the 3.8.

http://www.jeep.com/deprecated/downl...ad-button.y=10

It has the service schedule in it and it says the spark plugs are changed at the 96k service not the 48k one.

Pentastar plugs are irridum / platnum & dont require replacing untill 96,000 unlike the 3.8 which has easily accessable ell cheapo plugs the 3.6 ltr has bank 2 covered by the inlet manifold which has to be removed to get too them , so if you change them at home take your time and make sure the upper engine is bloody clean , wash it down first & hit it with an air gun to remove the water & hidden crap from wheeling ;)
