Hahaha yeh i guess . You done well getting that set up. Would have been close to back window .

The carrier is @30kg, (4mm steel plate) and the bike is 193kg wet, so pushing 225kg I reckon. The down weight on a "Class 4" Hitch is 200Kg SWL I think (??) so 10% extra will be fine, or within allowances / safety factor.

Actually I just checked, and I'm within spec! "Model 02666RW - Ball Weight: 227Kg"!!
http://www.haymanreese.com.au/parts/02666rw-4185462

OK, OK, there's a bit of leverage factor as the weight is not exactly over the ball, but it's close enough.

I usually put 50psi in the rear tyres of the Pathfinder when I put the bike carrier on, but didn't worry about it this time, it was only a short trip on good roads. It actually drove pretty good, even with just 32psi in the tyres. It would be the same as putting @220kg of cement bags, water, fuel, fridge / food in the back.... The long range tank adds 100L of fuel which is 75kg when it's full.

And yes, the Pathfinder Hitch must be higher and the rear window is at a more lean angle and lower. The Jeep window is very vertical, and taller, and the hitch is lower.....the handlebar was very much looking like a tilt the wrong way and I would have had tiny pieces of glass everywhere, and a big bill for a new window. I'm going to have to make a piece of timber with some closed cell foam backing to protect the rear window from the handlebar.

But gotta do the roof track and roof rack first! Oh, and fix the bike. :(

Just did a little over 600km trip so I thought I would update this for you. Drives well, little bit of a 'rumble' at lower speeds, super quiet at +80kph. Of course, wet paved roads and too much right foot with the CRD have them spinning up pretty easy. ;)

Oh, I also did 'this' to my KK this week: ;)

Wasn't far, but it was plenty challenging! You know that 'steep' where you're laying on your back instead of sitting in your seat? Yup, THAT sorta steep!

But the view is worth it!
