hub issue? Strange one.
i have a wobbl problem on front left wheel at 90kph. have had OUTER wear on tyre, car constantly pulling to left i have read everything i can find and have done thusfar -jack up said wheel and manhandled to check for movement - no dice -small amount of lateral pitman arm movement i believe to be CAUSED by the shaking over time from this front left wheel. -ball joints rock solid -toe in even (0) -axle does NOT appear to be bent (using a really straight board to check). hasn't bothered me as until now i live close to home (mostly 60kph) but am moving to a place which will require me to to do 40 minutes each way at 90kph and i don't think i can stomache it. can the hub unit do this? there is NO grinding or noise (i do have a spare hub btw but don't want to change if i don't have too). |
Had a wheel alignment?
|
what about a wheel balance ?
|
balance is ok, many different wheels tyres rotated through it.
as far as alignment, only 2 things to adjust. steering centre and toe adjustment. both fine? shocky appears fine for this wheel too. will get the tape measure out to triple check toe in and report measurements. ta |
Panhard rod, almost always panhard rod....
|
Cheers jj will get the lever bar out
doesn't this make the whole front axle - ie: both wheels shudder? ta |
Try to swap the rear ones with the front wheels first . It could be only the tyres ...
Had similar issue with my van . Cheers, Andrei |
