2013 WK2 HID headlights auto leveling issue

Hello
Please forgive my poor English.
If you have 2011 , 2012 or 2013 WK2 with HID headlights then I need your help please.

Could you please confirm the next:
When your head light is on Auto, and when you start your engine the headlights turns on and then:
A- Move up then return down ( My car is doing this).
OR
B- Move down to return up ( I believe this is the default mode ).

If I understand the headlights Auto leveling feature correctly then it should auto level the headlights when the trunk is loaded or when the the speed of the car reaches 100KM/H and the computer activate aerodynamic mode then lower the car by 15mm.
When aerodynamic mode is activated the headlights beam distance becomes shorter because the car horizontal level is lower and headlights auto leveling should work and correct that.
My car is not doing that anymore after replacing the lens.
I believe something is wrong with my 2013 overland head lights auto leveling after replacing the lens.

The Auto setting on the Headlight Dial/on off dial has nothing to do with the Auto Levelling function...the lights are 'balast' weighted and self level to adjust to the pitch of the vehicle...the up down, down up thing you see when you turn the car on means the self levelling function is working....it is 'searching' for the level height.
Unsure just what was done when you changed globes/bulbs and never been a fan of opening links in anything so cant comment on your current issue...just providing you with the 'normal' factory operation.
The lights go up down or down up every time you turn the lights on...its nothing to do with the lights being set in Auto mode.

Thank you.
You are right regarding Auto setting, its not related to auto-leveling.
What I want to know is about the first movement of the headlights after turning on the engine.
is it up or down (2011 - 2013 WK2 With HID).

Just did a check...mine go down, then up, then self level ( can see tiny adjustments being made until level is achieved)....however....using logic of lights being ballasted....I wonder how much of that initial movement is based around what inclination the vehicle is at when started...on the two occasions I tested the vehicle was on level concrete...perhaps the second time was slight...very minor...incline.
I tested in both Auto mode and by switching the lights manually...no difference in actions.
As a sideline....I can recommend that you dont use the Auto setting...it places more stress on an already very loaded Battery.
Just a suggestion/ helpful hint.

The full up/down sweep would likely just be calibrating the full range of possible movement, so I doubt it'd be impacted by the vehicle's position

Thanks Le Cheese....obviously wasnt sure on just what was happening with the 'movement' at start up....didnt know if the movements were ballast effected...thanks for the clarity

The levelling system is crap, you can adjust them manually the old way with screws on the top. Mine when automatically levelled were way to high and caused high beam to shine into the tree tops and shaded low beam to blind people. Ever since I adjusted them the up and down levelling crap doesn’t happen but suits me as the air suspension levels the car anyway. Just a side note, when the car drops into aero mode it lowers 15 mm, does that really affect the light thrown by the headlights. I read somewhere that the later models are supposed to know when you are cresting a hill and they lower the beam to not blind oncoming vehicles when you are doing highway speeds
What convinced me to manually adjust was driving in light fog where sometimes high beam is better as the bounce back is not to bad and you can see a bit further, anyway my high beam setting was just shining into the tree tops
