TJ not starting

Hi i have a problem, my jeep for some reason does not want to kick over, fuel pump is working, i checked the starter relay that's all good, put a new battery in it but still wont start it will crank and then stop we did jump start it yesterday but over night it wouldn't start could it be the alternator at all? any ideas anyone. thanks

If it was the alternator it most likely wouldnt kick over at all (or just once or twice but very slowly).

It could be the Crank Positioning Sensor, Crank Angle sensor, maybe even the Throttle positioning sensor.

What happened when you did start it? Did it run okay or rev randomly?

What year TJ?

Thanks mate, i did read on a american forum that if your fuel and volt gauges play up it is a sign that it is the crank sensor, please do let me know how you go cheers.

im going to be pissed off if it does work or doesnt, fancy getting stranded all because of a sensor, surely they could of designed it to go into a 'limp mode' to atleast get ya home. ill be carrying a spare in future!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a price from poly 4x4 it coasts $280.00 do you know where the sensor is located tigermuzza?
