CRD intercooler hoses So after changing my turbo out the red lightning Bolt was still coming on with error codes P2280, P2a00 and P0299 looking at these codes it was to do with lost turbo air pressure/airleak. I decided to make up a blanking cap With an air nozzle to attach to the turbo inlet and pressurise the system to find the leaks.
Sure enough the inlet intercooler hose had a hole in it and the outlet hose is showing a lot of wear to. Attached are some photos with part numbers to help anyone else in future. http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...6fdabba93b.jpghttp://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...6fddba43c5.jpghttp://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...6fe04ed4bd.jpg |
That's a decent size split
Well done Chingy  Welcome to the grease monkey club https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p5...1YItQSsHHD__-A |
Mine went, and it wasn't as obvious, as when the same hose blew on my old LR 300tdi.
The LR made a lot of noise and lost heaps of power, the Commander lost a bit of power and made a little whistling noise, but was by no means obvious. I found it by putting the hand brake on, foot on the brake and give it a boot full. lol |
Hi Chingy,
My hose on the passenger side of the intercooler had a split about 2/3 the length of the hose. Luckily there was no damage to the turbo. Although I now have a spare turbo which came with the turbo actuator. Where did you get the replacement hoses, I got mine off a wrecked vehicle. Cheers Dave |
