No Reverse Lamps. Help! Hi guys,
I am struggling here. I have no reverse lights, but the bulbs are both fine. I can select reverse, R comes up on the dash, and my reverse parking sensors all function. So, the car knows it's in reverse. I know there are no fuses for this circuit, and I seem to keep coming back to an issue with the trans, but that makes no sense as the Jeep goes into reverse. Code that I get is B1668-REVERSE LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH. I have no +12 at the tail lights, or the trailer connector. Suggestions? It's a 2005 WH. Thanks, Rob. |

Already working on that. It's harder to asses than I thought. I will need to look at it overnight and build up to it, but I think it seems I have a short circuit in the wiring somewhere.

reverse lamps hi, if you have the chrysler auto, it will have the same electronic solenoid as in the wg with the v8. I use a wk /wh in my wjs. The white solenoid . The reversing light switch is part of the solenoid and it goes out regularly. Got one of my wj':shock:s through roadworthy as the tester could not get the reversing lights to work after changing globes and felt guilty having charged me to replace globes.
If you buy, rockauto is not the place but ebay usa and only buy genuine. I update all my wjs with the later white solenoid but you wont need the detent plate as it is for converting the earlier black solenoids to the later white. Can be done if you are servicing the auto, just drop the valve body and it sits on top of it and pushes through the case. hope this helps,:) Peter jagonev12 |
Hey mate, mine is a diesel, so it's a NAG1 and not the 545RFE. Assuming that's a totally different kettle of fish to what you described?

Have you tried disconnecting the tail lights (one at a time) or just pulling the reverse globes and while they are out see if that code clears?
Also check under the TIPM (fuse box under bonnet) for short's. |
I did pull the bulbs and confirmed the housings work, but I didn't think to do that.
Also, I did have the TIPM out and did the test as per the link in the second post, according to the manual the checks I made say the TIPM is faulty. I think I need to pull it out again and check the connectors to the electronic module. Thanks. |
