Here is a link to the recall https://www.recalls.gov.au/content/i.../itemId/955305
As far as I'm aware there is no expiry date on the recall so they still have to fix it at for free.

That's such bs that the parts are obsolete. Make it their problem not yours.

That's a load of BS, just too lazy to look for them. Here is the first aftermarket one that popped up in the US with a google search, and it's for right hand drive!
Pretty much like the factory kit that was fitted to mine about 6 years ago.

I'm in the process of doing some cade drawings so if anybody wants a drawing of this section of the chassis I can supply one, I can also supply a drawing of the plates with dimensions as well...

Awesome offer Jj. I'd be interested, as I don't think my XJ has been done. I haven't checked with chrysler but there's nothing obvious around the box that would hint towards it.

Will you send it as a jpeg or PDF or... ??

cheers

What would you like it as?
I haven't done the plate drawings yet, I have just drawn the chassis section so far but as I have the hole centres drawn now it won't take much to draw the plates.
How far back do you want the plates to go? To the rear hole as per used by the factory bullbar?

Thanks Jj.
Would probably be easiest as a PDF for me.

As for size... :| ... I'm sorry, I haven't thought that far ahead.
I'll be under the car tomorrow, I'll have a look and work something out.

This is a god send Jj. I've tried to find the measurements online for quite some time, without luck. I have managed to try and print out a plan for plates but it came out all blurry. I'm afraid I'm computer illiterate. :( I know enough to get myself into trouble, but that's about it...:D

cheers

Gday Jj.

I think this should be sufficient. Don't you?

I'm going to price having a set of plates cut from 3mm for both LH and RH sides.
To beef the area up for front bar mounting and a steering brace. I'm wanting to run a brace from side to side, then to the steering box. Maybe overkill, but I've been under there and watched the chassis twist like a paddle pop stick when the steering is turned. Quite unnerving...

Thanks

cheers
