Servicing costs? Anyone supply their own filters? Hi,
Just had my 40k service done on my overland. Cost was over $900. Only $325 was labour. $150 was oil and the rest was filters. I am wondering if this is normal, and has anyone tried sourcing their own filters (thinking maybe from the states) and supplying the dealer with filters and oil for services? I just hate getting ripped by the dealerships more than I have to! TIA. Ben. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk |
I buy all my filters from Moparamerica and atf4, diff oil + additive, now engine oil (shell Rotella T6 5-40) from eBay

I was thinking that would be a better option. Haven't done the hard yards and worked out part numbers/pricing yet.

I use Wesfil Filters and Mobil 1 oil. Supply the dealer with these. Never had an issue.

Thanks tasjeep and Treebreakerbob. Is there a lot of difference in price between what you pay for filters and what the dealers charge?
