New Jeep owner question - Water in battery compartment ??

Hi Guys,

Recently bought a 2012 WK2 limited diesel. This forum has helped me to find the battery :D
Now my question, might seem a tad weird, might not...
Should the battery be sitting in around an inch of water ???

thanks in advance

Definitely not. Being a sealed battery it would not leak.

Check the grommets on the walls of the tray - perhaps one has come adrift? Just guessing.

Cheers,

DM

possible sunroof drain out of place

So the screw holes in the roof, under the factory rails, were not sealed properly. This allowed water to enter.
Once I installed the Uneek roof platform, utilizing all these points, the issue disappeared completely.

I highly doubt it - I have photos under the rivnuts where you claim the holes would leak down to the battery compartment...

If your statement was correct, your roof lining would have suffered first - was this the case?

There is one grommit in the battery compartment - you need to remove the battery to access it.

There's nothing that really leads down into the battery box area.

I think someone split a bottle of water in the back or a left bottle leaked and went down there.

There have been discussions where IF you have a sunroof leak, there are drains which could lead around the passenger side box where the TCM/Relays are - But that is off the topic in this post.
