Go You Aussie Jeepin' Fabbers hey! I have not participated in this forum for a long, long time. The degree of involvement from aussie jeepers in this site is now incredible. I never thought I would see a fabrication section in here and I am stoked to see the growth and interest. Whoever on here has encouraged and nurtured the fabrication interest is to be congratulated:!:
Here is what I have been building at home since I sold the little yellow TJ; I just finished her prior to Christmas: http://www.gondwanaracing.com.au/p.jpg Now I have to reassemble her: http://www.gondwanaracing.com.au/fitting_in.jpg Here is her little LS1, a Bow Tie block with SE heads: http://www.gondwanaracing.com.au/chevy.jpg Fabricating anything is challenging because you are making components as you go. This pic illustrates my hydro pump bracket marked out on the billet before I machined it the on the vertical mill. http://www.gondwanaracing.com.au/marking_out.jpg A later step in the process of machining the pump bracket: http://www.gondwanaracing.com.au/mill_pump.jpg I don't have a CNC sheet metal roller, so I determine my profiles with TiG wire and hard paper card. It achieves the same result: http://www.gondwanaracing.com.au/profile.jpg |
That thing is insane. What's the plan for axles/tyres?
I presume you're going with a coilover setup but I cant see any shock mounting points. |
