Truck Lite LED headlights

Has anyone fitted the ADR/non ADR truck lite headlights?

I want to buy a set of the non ADR headlights because i think the ADR w/parking lights look stupid. As far as i know thats the only thing that is stopping the American version ones from being ADR compliant.

Let me know if any of you have either of them and your feedback on them. Mainly want to know about the beam pattern of both headlights.

Find attached images of both (ADR, Non ADR)

I have a set of non ADR ones in a wrangler I got not long ago. To be honest I was not that impressed with them. Better than OEM but not as good as I was expecting. I also don’t have any experience with other led replacement to compare with. I wonder how they compare to jwspeaker or betond4x4 https://www.beyond4x4.com.au/electri...ed-headlights/

yeh its hard to compare if you only used to what youve been using, at least their are better than the OEM ones.

Have you had to readjust the non ADR ones? or do they come non LHD or RHD, just generic?

I run the ones below, not ADR approved. Better than stock but not by much. Huge spread, I have them wound down as far as I can. Use the switch to drop it more when loaded. The beam pattern is pretty weird, main beam in the middle, with two small beams, high and low. I suspect this is just a consequence of design, not intentional. Lights reflective road signs up from quite a distance, but as far as I can tell don't piss drivers off. Only been flashed once in 6 months.

Required non flicker adapters from Ebay. I assume these are just DC to DC convertors, which you could get for quite a bit less than the adapters. But would required plugs/sealing.

I recently drove across Lachlan Valley Way between Yass and Cowra at dusk and in darkness. I was struggling to see with the standard Wrangler headlamps. The High Beams are COMPLETELY USELESS.

ARB recently told me that there is nowhere to mount a light bar across the plastic bumper. I would need an after market bar. [Note: I have seen other JKs with their light bars bolted through the plastic bumper].

As a result, I was wondering if the Truck Lite LEDs would be a better substitute until I am ready to mod my vanilla rig. I guess not after reading the earlier posts...

Is there an alternative to the stock standard bulbs in the head lamps e.g. like IPF series?????

Looks like I will be using my modded XJ for remote night duties until this issue is sorted [has Bushranger LED bar].

BTW, the other thing that $hits me about the JK is the Barbie horn, but that is a topic for another often repeated thread....

You could easily mount a light bar to the stock front bar. Plenty of metal under all that plastic. Otherwise you can get mounts to suit a 20" bar, that attach to the radiator support uprights.

Horns are a pretty easy fix, I don't know what jeep was thinking with the stock setup. Relay triggered off the old horn wiring near the battery.

Thanks for the pic.

I figured as well that there IS a mounting position under all that plastic because, I have seen others with a light bar (actually, I have seen an ARB light bar).

Of course ARB wants to flog a metal bull bar to put the nice lighting on it, but then adding at least 50KG to the front end means something else needs to change like the suspension set up. Slippery slope.... not ready to mod yet.

Yes, what was Jeep thinking with that horn.... so, is it legal for example to rip out Barbie and put one of the Klein train horns on instead?
