Mishimoto radiator thoughts?

Hey all, been away for a long while, anyway! Needing a new rad as my eBay plastic end tank one just threw the towel in, and before it gets worse I'll get a new one. Anyway, there are mishimoto ones for sale for $340 with a lifetime guarantee warranty. Anyone used one? I don't want it to die on me but a good warranty is handy. Also, will be doing the waterpump and viscous clutch at the same time, will be getting off rock auto, is the acdelco pump ok? And I was gonna get the GMB fan clutch, would this also be of okay quality? Much appreciated any feedback. Cheers, Hamish.

Okay I'll probably give it a go, the xj never overheats, I just think it is all due for replacement, and the small leak in the radiator is a worry as it's an eBay job. Stat and hoses are all new, so are all the Welch plugs.

I dont have a Mishimoto, but i do have the all alloy GPI one. Seems to be holding up fine. I think the life time warranty sounds good.

If your getting a clutch fan, consider the Hayden 2737. You can get it at rockauto for 30 usd. Its the zj clutch and spins faster, which draws in more air.

Cheers,

Yeah the lifetime warranty is a good seal the deal type thing, and a big company is handy. Is the hayden zj clutch longer than stock? I have heard they hit the rad...

I had Mishimoto radiator purchased from US directly replaced under warranty in Australia. Cost me $40 in shipping.

The Hayden has very flush looking fins. It is a bit longer that stock i believe (i dont have a stock one to compare it to), but the interwebs report the Hayden 2737 ZJ standard duty clutch fan as fitting in the XJ. If you get the heavy duty ZJ viscous clutch, then i have heard they dont fit due to the extra size.

Ive got a busy work schedule coming up, but i will fit it in a few weeks and report back.

I see Mishimoto does an alloy XJ model, but its not sold in Australia. Have to be careful getting one from overseas, as i believe the transmission coolant tank and lines are on the opposite side. It says on their website that they offer better cooling. They are also pretty pricey, but still have the lifetime warranty.

Cheers,
