WG 2.7 Extended Bump Stops?

Hey all. 2003 WG 2.7CRD. The bump stops are pretty well gone and need new ones. Tricky part is I'm looking to install a 2" lift within around 6 months. I had a look at Quadratec and they don't seem to do extended bump stops for this thing, just some steel spacers to move the stops down. These look pretty basic and I'm sure I could make something similar up myself when needed.

So the question is, do I just go with standard bump stops for now and see how they go after the lift is installed? I could then fab my own extender brackets and install if needed. Or do I drive really carefully in the meantime? :D Or source some extended bump stops?

Recommendations on bump stops appreciated. Thanks guys.

2" lift won't require extended bump stops in my opinion. You may only need to extend these if you use longer shocks.

You should only need extended bump stops for longer shocks(if compressed length is too long) or to prevent larger tires from rubbing on the guards.

Since we're on the subject of bumpstops and shock lengths, what is the maximum collapsed shock length?

I've measured the rear shock length at ride height, then subtracted the distance from the bumpstop to the axle and that comes out to 16.1 inches collapsed.

Did I measure wrong? Because the stock Monroe for non-upcountry are listed 13.25 inches collapsed and for upcountry they are 14.125 inches.

The rear could benefit from some extra downtravel at stock height, at stock height the shocks are the limiting factor and if the 16 inch measurement is ok, then a set of shocks for 2 inch lift should be fine and add almost 3 inches of downtravel.

Just for your info I have a wg overland and they had a stock factory lifted suspension that is around 40-50mm and they used small cast iron bump stop extensions under the bump stops for the increased lift at the front and longer rubber bumpers in the rear springs.

My limited is the same, I've never compared it to a laredo, but I expect they'll be the same too.
