Hi guys
Just want some opinions on buying a 2010 GC WH with the Mercedes diesel. 175k, the photos look as if it’s well looked after.
Asking price is around 16k.
Currently own a WJ HO, great car never let me down. The duco is shot, mainly the clear coat & some rust on the roof. Absolutely brilliant car for towing a camper trailer, but the range & the fact it needs 95 gets expensive & long hauls can cause fuel anxiety lol.
Going to have a look Saturday @ the WH.
What’s the general consensus from the gurus on this forum.

Check low range engages, an incorrectly done recall is known to disable it. Not the end of the world as it can be fixed with a replacement FDCM.

Front diff bush's will probably need replacing, super-pro have a decent replacement.

Check the front prop-shaft C/V (transfer case end), if there is grease on the tunnel or a split boot it is on its way out.
Ford BA turbo ute C/V fits.

A hard one to check is the Transfer Case fluid. If it is RED aka transmission fluid it is wrong and may have internal damage as a result. Correct fluid a hydraulic oil (Mobi-fluid 424) it is a light brown colour.
