The Sydney Jeep Club trip to the Cape ran into a guy in Cairns (outside the Sunlander Caravan Park where he noticed all the Jeeps parked) that worked for the dealership there, and he was a big help to our CJ6 owner. So ring Ireland's:

Yeah, I know, the whole 'stealership' thing, but sometimes you need the tools, knowledge, and stuff that only they seem to have (compared to some petrol station mechanic).

Just letting you know I ended up at Federation Automotive, I was quite impressed with Laurie to be honest.

I had the engine light come on and my last mechanic had checked the codes and said that it’s an O2 sensor issue or my cat may need replacing. Anyway I told this to Laurie and later confirmed the error code. When I picked up the JK he told me the cat was fine, the O2 sensors had tested ok, he had reset the computer and to see how it goes.

Evidently after about a 1000ks the lights back on and I will need new o2 sensors but I am happy with the way he has handled it and will be going back.
