Winch Plate for a TJ

Going to fab up a front winch plate...any sugguestions as to how thick..

I'm thinking 5 mm or is that overkill and just go 3mm with some reinforcing????

Cheers

5mm would not be overkill - IMHO it would be the minimum, and personally I'd probably opt for 8mm for the mount plate itself....I like a bit of overkill ;)

I was thinking that mine is closer to 8mm and mine is a Jeep one.

Ive made a 8mm it works well, real well im thinking of making a another out of 5mm or 6mm cause Mark 1. is f**king heavy :|

any picks of your handywork ?????

leaning towards thicker now due to the fact it's a M8274-50 such big load on the front of the plate not bottom...

One thing in your favour with the highmount - when under load it's pressing AGAINST the mount - not trying to rip itself off ;)
If that don't make sense I need sleep
