2.5 TD 100% mechanical pump coversion? Hello, writing from Europe! Hoping to get some help with my XJ.
So I´m having immobilizer issues with my 2000 XJ 2.5td and im thinking now the solution could be to adapt an older 100% mechanical pump from some other vehicle. Has anyone done this? Any advice to give? Main concern I believe is how will the Jeep IP gear fit on another pump? But other than that i guess its simple, need to run coolant to the pump for cold/warm start and ignition timing settings. Needs to be same hand driven, same plunger size etc. |
You should ask this on the VM Diesel group on FaceBook. There are probably people who have done it in that group. I cannot recal anyone in this group doing this in the past. I would think it is probably cheaper & easier to fixreplace your immobilizer.

You don't need to look for a pump from another car, all the VM's installed before 97 have a mechanical pump :)
