31" simex centerpedes or 31" BFG M/T KM's Hi All,
I own a stock 96 XJ and I am now planning my upgrade wish list. I am starting with the tyres and want to get your opinion of which tyre type I should go for. I ve used 32" BFG's on my 4Runner before I sold it and got a Jeep, but iam not sure if the BFG's will be a better option on the Jeep or the Simex centerpedes ? Cheers ! |
The Simex tyres will be noisey thats for sure, Polly ran these if I remember correctly. Not sure if the BFG's would be much quieter though. How much lift are you planning on? neithier will fit a stock Jeep.
As an aside I had a look at the Maxxis Mudzilla LT tyre up at tough truck and I'd love to run those. You could also look at the Buckshot Mudder for a cheaper tyre. Cheers Steve |
iam looking at 4" to 6" of lift. i know i can fix 32" @ 6" lift but I really dont need that much.
I dont care much about noise as the BFG's where loud enough. Ill look at these other ones too, Maxxis and Buckshot cheers |
simex 31s are about $170 each (thats what i paid anyway), BFGs are considerably more (>$200). im using the 31" centis atm, noisy yeah (but arent all MTs), but good off road :D

I ran the simex they are a great tyre and would go them again any day and will do for my next one's again after the coopers wear out
