Tyres and JBA upper control arm 2 Attachment(s)
I've recently had my Jeep fitted with an Old Man Emu 2" lift. after doing a fair amount of research I was sold on the benefits of fitting the JBA front upper control arms. Happy with everything on the lift with the exception of the castle nut on the control arm.
It sits less than 10mm off the stock front tyres 265/50r20. One of the main reasons i got the lift was to go up to 285 tyres. The guys at Tempe tyres said they fit the 285/50r20's to WK2 grand Cherokees every other day of the week with no issue. Is my only option getting new rims with a different offset to fit the 285's? Any help would be great. Cheers Sando. |
mine is running 265/60 and there is no way i can run 285's without a diff offset .

HeHe.....all good mate.

speaking about upper arms has anyone apart from the OP replaced theirs after a lift ?

Yeah this clearance is a massive concern for me. Im reluctant to drop my tyre pressure below 25psi because of how close that castle nut is.
Real pain in the backside considering the only 4wd'ing i do is on soft sand. Looking into options to get it modified or i'll be having to fork out for new rims with a different offset. Im suprised more people havent raised this as an issue. |
