Inline priming pump for CRD Anyone successfully installed an inline diaphragm pump for priming the 2.7?
Seems like a no brainer especially when travelling remote. Thanks |
Some guys in the UK have installed an electric inline fuel pump. I usually use a PCV clear hose and a vacuum pump to bleed the fuel from the bleed port( near thermostat)
|
I'm looking at a small one like found on other mb vehicles. Prime like any other diesel with no special tools.
Carrying a vacuum bleeder is one extra thing to take up space. |
I carry a squeeze pump (inline bulb) and a foot of tube under my back seat with the jack.
|
What size bulb and tube? It work well?
|
8mm OD fuel tube (6mm ID) and a rubber 6mm hand pump, both off eBay. Total cost around $6. I've used it once when changing fuel filter and it worked fine with the stock priming valve.
