What are the known issues affecting fuel consumption in a Jeep 2010 KK Sports? I know Jeeps aren't streamlined and could be more compared with a brick than a Lamborghini, but I'm desperately in need of a fix. My jeep is using up to 28ltrs per 100klm's, that's less than 4klm's to the litre, and that's a mix of town and highway driving. Does anyone know of any particular issues that could be causing this? Highway driving I try to use Cruise Control as often as I can, I know its gentler on the pedal than I am, but I'm not a rev head, I do drive easy.
Look forward to any suggestions or comments. |
From memory others have reported issues caused by a faulty oxygen sensor or similar. Apparently not a difficult or expensive fix. I’d expect any competent mechanic would be capable of diagnosing the cause using a scanning tool. Try searching the threads to learn more or even the JK section as the engine is common to that model. Good luck & please do share your outcome.

Keep air filter clean (replace regularly), spark plugs gapped and cleaned (this can make a big difference), run bit of injector cleaner through, check codes because things like O2 sensors can cause the computer to run fuel through very rich to compensate for issues that in reality don’t even exist.
