Kyro

Did you follow the instructions for the rears? or did you try something else? the instructions make you cut the seams, how did you get around that?

I fitted my new tank today. Getting it out of the wreck was very easy but installing in mine was more time consuming. Firstly the tow bar was in the way for the rear mounting tabs and the passenger side shock wouldn't let it go back far enough to get past the tow bar.
Secondly the fuel lines wouldn't reach so they had to be replaced.
Luckily we have a genuine tow bar which uses the 2 rear most mounting bolts as the tank uses the front mounting bolt for it's mount.
Lastly as it came from the wreckers I thought that I should have a look inside to check the condition of the sock and see how much rubbish was in there, luckily no rubbish but I couldn't get the pump/sender unit out to check the sock.

But.....

Now it weeps from around the sender unit, so I don't know if it weeped before or if it is from what I did, I assume it was from me. Is the a sealant that I can use on the seal to ensure that it doesn't weep any more? Any thoughts on why the sender unit won't come out?
