2008 WH Grand Cherokee Driving Lights Hi all, I'm new to this site and I've been trying to find information on wiring Driving Lights to operate via Main Beam.
Could someone advise where and which wire on Main Beam to tap? The main Beam bulb has a constant pos (white) and a (black) wire. Or maybe point me in the direction of a solution. My car is a 2008 WK Grand Cherokee 5.7L limited. Over to you techies. |
If you have a constant positive and a switched earth wire, you run a new wire from battery positive, to a fuse, to your in cab switch, then to the coil of the driving light relay, then the other side of the relay coil to the black wire at the head light main beam. Then a heavier gauge wire from the battery positive to a fuse to driving lights, other side of driving lights to earth or battery negative.

Headlight Wiring Would appear you need to tap into L33
White/Orange wire on the left hand headlight to feed the relay trigger Hope that helps https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Uz...RWRQOT09B5ceQg |
The WH is not negative switched (like Toyota's) its positive switched like proper car's are. It's 6am now and I will finish night shift at 8am. When I crawl out of bed around 3pm I will check where I tapped into the high circuit.

Update, My car is Right Hand Drive.

Thanks Thanks for your replies.
SeaComms, your explanation suggests two connections on the relay only. And running a wire directly from fuse to driving lights would mean they would permanently be on. And Ren0vator, my lights do not have those wire colours. The high beam has a constant live White wire and a thinner Black wire. Over to you Clarky. |
Now I'm Really confused. I used a meter to check wires to the high Beam and the White wire shows constant positive, and the Black wire shows a constant Negative.
None seems to be switched. |
