XJ series 2 parts into XJ series 1 ?? I've found a 99 at the wreckers with low Kim's and a good interior.
The engine is already gone but the intake manifold is still there. Couple of parts I'd like swap over if they fit. Any ideas if the door trims will fit? Will the front seat fit? Also contemplating the front clip........ Maybe the tailgate and lights?? Maybe the front doors?? Thoughts gents? |
Seats bolt straight in , door trims don't fit ,
front clip will work if u take the rad support panel and the front guards too , It's a pretty straight forward swap if ur handy with the tools , Tail gate is completely different as are tail lights so don't bother there If ur meaning pre update aka 1996 and earlier , and fitting the 97 and up gear then this info applys to that :) |

There was also a 95 with dark grey and wood door trims so that may be the compromise. Looks like a trip back to the wreckers tomorrow for some seats. |
Done!
Seats are in and the door trims and overhead console are in the shed. Has anyone tried swapping the centre console from a late model into an early model? Looks like everything but the handbrake will fit as the early one is in the centre, the late moved over to the left. I'd love a factory cup holder! |
Centre console upgrade.

Not a hard swap. I've done it. You need to fab a rear mount, use the update handbrake lever and I didn't use the ducting for rear A/C. The front of the console won't have fit up to the dash. A panel will have to be fabbed. Also, grab the update transmission shifter if you can, they're nicer. Sent from my HTC_0PJA10 using Tapatalk |
Thanks Mr Rustynuts, that will help with my cunning plans....
Yes Mr Bruggz, I have the tranny handle already on, thanks for the tips on the console. Will post some pics once it's all done. |
