Banning lifts with stability control

The federal government is at it again wanting to ban suspension upgrades on vehicle's with traction/stability control.

Government misplaced policy reform threatens vehicle safety.

Australian automotive suppliers have become global leaders in the design and manufacture of high quality 4WD parts and accessories, improving the safety and functionality of these vehicles.
To provide evidence of the safety of the products that these suppliers design and manufacture, the Australian automotive aftermarket industry has undertaken extensive independent testing both in Australia and the USA to validate the engineering integrity and ongoing regulatory compliance of vehicles.

Despite this evidence, Minister Paul Fletcher and his Department are about to make it much harder and more expensive to modify vehicles.

Nothing these blithering idiots do surprises me anymore
Major party sponsorship from Company X
Results in laws to circumvent Company Y's product
Yet they hide behind bureaucratic nonsense :monkey:

That are creating a host of new rules for importing vintage vehicles also..... Basically everything now has to be asbestos free and how that is determined is not clearly stated. Apparently a guy brought in an old Mustang and it had to be stripped down to parts at the docks, at his expense to remove anything that may or may not of had asbestos in it eg, brakes, clutch and cylinder head gaskets.

Another dopey rule that is to be voted on this week is any heavy vehicle legally imported previously will have to also be retroactively inspected to ensure the no asbestos compliance

Going to start calling politicians 2 dicks as cant get that silly playing with one

Sheesh... if they want to start doing something positive about asbestos, then clean-up campaigns for fencing materials would produce a far greater impact. The laneways around my neighbourhood are littered with shedding fence material and broken bits.

The amount in old vehicles would be a pin drop in comparison.

Maybe common sense will prevail.
