- Old Man Emu suspension +40mm (ish)
- BFG AT 245 / 70 R16
- Rak roofrack, Narva 175 lights (spots inboard, floods outboard), external GPS antenna
- Long Range Automotive fuel tank, Mopar tow hitch receiver, Outback Ideas Bush Hook, tail lamp guards
- Mopar canvas/neoprene seat covers, Mopar slush mats, Mopar cargo tray (can you spot the pattern here?)
- ARB & Black Rat recovery gubbins, compressor, etc, etc...
- Garmin StreetPilot III interfaced to Compaq iPaq running OziExplorer CE, RAM mounting hardware
- Dust, mud, scratches and a nice big dent in the transmission oil pan

More lift for the KJ

1 Attachment(s)
Here's my KJ after another 2" was added to the back this weekend. I already have the 2" OME lift from ARB, but had a couple of 2" rear spacers lying around as well. Put them in on Saturday and took it out on Sunday. Rear wheels don't catch the guard anymore at full stretch!

Just working through my options on getting another 1" or so up front so it doesn't look so lobsided.

Finally got a pic of mine. Went into Bendethera via the Merricumbene fire trail on the weekend. Stunning scenery when you could see it through the fog.

Here's my Jeep and me off-road, thanks to all on the forum for the advice and encouragement thus far! This trip is between Wilbinga and Seabird, around 70k's North of Perth, WA.

Bogged with the tide coming in - way to close to the water! (reduced pressures further and cleared the sand in front of the wheels and drove straight out)

Hi, I've been a member for a while but have not posted a pic of my KJ yet in here so I thought I'd put one up.
This pic was taken at a National Park about 330km South of Perth. That's my son and I in the pic.

Here's some recent pics from my trip to Coral Bay and Ningaloo Stn in the North West of WA - about 1200km's North of Perth. I spent a week in the area, a couple of nights in Coral Bay at the Caravan Park, then 5 nights at Ningaloo Station camping in the dunes right next to the beach.

It was overcast and rained intermittently the whole week unfortunately, so not the best time to be there! But still, got out the fishing rod and caught a couple of GT's from the beach on lures, and generally relaxed and went exploring in the KJ. Got as far north as Yardie Creek, but it was impassable (especially without a snorkel!)

The KJ performed flawlessly and returned fuel economy for the trip of 8.5L per 100km fully loaded (it was heavy with Fridge, spare battery in the rear, water, food, camping gear etc) cruising at 105-110km/h. It handled the offroad sections with aplomb, climbed dunes and did a fair bit of beach work. The BFG AT's I am especially impressed with, tough, stable and great grip on the road, sand and mud. Very comfortable on the road - drove 1200km's home in one stretch yesterday. That diesel is a magic little engine! Plenty of power for overtaking too and smooth at highway revs.

I wouldn't bother to take a second spare tyre next time - its heavy - if you use the right pressures off road there shouldn't be a problem, plus the BFG's are tough! My dad did puncture a tyre off road on his Patrol (Cooper LT ATR's) when he picked up a nail. We patched it and re-inflated it then used it as the spare for the rest of the trip after swapping it over.

Only real hassle with the KJ is a bit limited for space to pack everything - the roof basket was definitely one of the best investments I've made for it. I'd take a boat up there next time on a trailer though, so some gear could go in that. Being a diesel it did use a bit of oil for the 2500km's we did - about half a litre. I took the essential spares of air filter, oil filter, fuel filter and oil with me so no drama topping it up.

There's a small vid here:-

Manual. All my work 4wding was in diesel manuals (Hilux, LC ute, Troopys, etc) so when I went to buy my first one that's what I went looking for.
