JK CRD Big End Failures

Hi All,

We have noticed a reasonable number of JK CRD big end issues showing up on the forum.

If your CRD has experienced a big end failure please list details of it here. If we get enough replies then a trend may appear, helping others to avoid the issue.

To begin with this thread should focus mainly on big end failures so please try and keep things specific.

Details of interest include (but not limited to):

Failure type
Model Year
Kms at time of failure
Gearbox type
Any ECU tune installed
Any EGR removal
Catch can installed
General Service interval
Oil weight and type used
Location
Tyres size and diff ratios
% time spent used under reasonable load, i.e. towing or with significant weight on board

ADDED:
kms on odometer when purchased
Transmission cooler added? (if so, location?)

Cheers
