Scheduled servicing Can anyone tell me if the accessory drive belt should be replaced at 80k as shown in the service handbook, and if so, is it included in the 'capped'price?
I don't think mine was replaced and now I'm up to 122k! Always serviced at Jeep dealers or authorised agent Sent from my CPH1979 using Tapatalk |
All I can add is that our local expert at All GC told me the Jeep belts are very long lived. Tells me he's replaced a few at the mid 100's with no signs of wear. I'm on 108km, he inspects mine once a year and we agreed that (because I'm hot on preventative maintenance) it would be replaced no later than around 120km. Might even do it before that...
In your shoes, I'd replace it now. I think 80km was a 'safe' figure that underestimated the quality of the belts. I wouldn't count on it being included in capped price servicing, OE belt is worth well over $100 plus fitting. |

I had a good look at mine last service which was 100K, not a sign of even a crack which is surprising, may change it later but at the moment no reason, I carry a spare always . but if you rely on a workshop I would be replacing belts and hoses at 100K as a matter of course...

Had mine replaced at 170k, can't see anything in the service records where it had been replaced previously, kept original belt which is now my spare...still looks fine.

Same. Fully stamped service book but no record to prove the belt was changed at 80k. I bought the car at 85k, so safest position is to assume it wasn't changed.
