Been lookign at that one, I was thinking of making it deeper (stick out further) so the swingout carrier can go on the top. I've also been looking at some slam shut latches as well, much like a car door latch :)

I'm going to give it a blast soon as well as i busted one of my bumper caps at LCMP the other weekend

Cool, I might follow a couple of steps behind you then ;) From what I've looked at the basic bar is pretty easy to mount up, I want to keep my haymen reese towbar though as at least that is all legal and rated to tow with. I'd like to have the swingout recessed in the bar so basically a 'C' channel bar with the arm swinging out of it but that might be a bit ambitious as mounting the arm would be a little harder and clearances would be critical.
