Custom Rock Sliders

A couple of people asked about my Rock Sliders that I recently just purchased so thought I'd share some more info / pictures of them.

These were fabricated and installed by Ben of APT Fabrications in Brisbane. He's a top bloke and whilst a Land Rover man at heart loves all 4WDs and has done a fair bit of work on Jeeps. I think he said I was about the 10th KK he's done so far and he's the same guy that also did the custom barwork and snorkel for GregPen's fantastic KK so I'll certainly be getting him to do some more work on my car in the new year :D

Total cost for the sliders was $990 which included powdercoating and full installation. I was pretty happy with that price considering normal Mopar side steps are about the same price.

Testing them out at LCMP. They held up beautifully to a few scrapes from rocks and one incident of me sitting the car on a small log across the road I was attempting to pass over.... unsucessfully :p

Shot facing from Back to Front of car - As you can see the stock plastic moulding is completely removed and the sliders take up that space.

Looking at Drivers side door closed - They sit quite nicely in line with the front guards

Very nice Mikzor, did you have to remove the plastic trim, looks like you did.

Yes the plastic trim was removed as the Sliders sit in that position. I preferred this as it meant the sliders weren't sitting underneath the trim reducing clearance further. Ben removed the trim as part of the installation process. I didn't have to do anything beyond dropping the car off :)

looks like it was meant to be there in the first place!

by the way, do the stock moldings do anything at all?

They are rock panels there to save your actual panels from damage
