If your door locks fail, try this, pre-update So my door locks wouldnt work, and it was Fuse 9 (again)
This is the first thing I would check if my door locks stop working (as per FSM) Its in the fuse box above your right knee The easiest way is to lay a mirror and upward pointing light on DS floor The fuses are numbered, and this gives you a chance to get at it, crouching on the ground with the door open Its a 20A (yellow) fuse I use a test light clipped to the key in lock as earth If both ends of fuse dont alight, its blown I dont know what fuse number the post-updates use |
Great tip about the mirror:!: Why must we literally bend over backwards to see these things?
My pre-update central locking is still working, but my doors will only lock/unlock when it is raining. They have seized up a bit so I have to use the key anyway. I only get to see my mechanic once a year now for the service and he usually does something to the locks to get them to work properly. The magic then wears off after a little while.... |
My RH rear is sometimes un-coperative, so its probably pulling too much current.
what I have done to keep it going is spray penetrant in liberally around every lock orifice, but the correct fix is to take off the door card and lubricate every linkage point |
