holley Pro-Jection 4 or Truck Avenger

I have been looking at this unit to fit to my amc360, has anyone used one? are they more trouble than they are worth, The other option is a Holley Truck Avenger.

One of the guys in SJC uses the 1st generation pro-jection on his 360 in a CJ10 he doesnt get online so he wont be able to reply but it seems to run ok but took a lot to tune in

Did you have a look at Howel EFI ? basically the same GM throttle body assembly design as the holley but comes with a pre programed chip designed for the engine specs you provide when you order it. approx USD1200

The best choice from all reports is the elderbrock MPI system

Ya i like the mpi system but to much cash $ 4 me, I see the pro jection ones come up now and then here in brisbane 2nd hand ( there was one at a swap meet up here for $400 in vgc as they bolt onto any chev GMH FORD etc.
what about the Holley Truck Avenger 4x4 carby, no stuffing around on the trail wont have problems with computers and water and mud etc.around $380 US.

Been doing a bit of reading on this for our 360 too....IMHO the order of preference is:

Edlebrock MPI (about $4600),
Howell TBI (about $2300),
Holley Truck Avenger (about $875),
Edlbrock Thunder (About $820),
Regular Holley's
Last & certainly not on my shopping list the Holley Street Avenger......

At this stage I'm probably going to save for the Howel TBI - although I might revert back to gas too ;)

I'd be wary of projection,I don't think the ECU is adjustable enough, I have the 2 barrel on a 308, it work's JUST ok doesn't flood out on hills etc, (my primary reason for getting it) IMHO it just dumps too much fuel in
oh and the throttle shaft is sticky, and others I've spoken too have the same problem,
Eddie at 4wd usa has 4bbl on his j20 - 360 and he said it dumps in too much fuel too

I'd forget about efi unless it's an OEM setup,

I'd set the motor up for gas only, and put up with the tank size

so wooders if I did not go to injection, the truck avenger would be worth a look? it comes in a few sizes now up to 760 or so.

IMHO 760 would be way too big for a 360 (unless it's had the manboobies worked off it).....670 would be a much better fit.
