Dual Battery Setup

4 Attachment(s)
Well I've become an expert at pulling this car apart in the last week that I have owned it. :D

Using the compartment under the passenger seat, I set up a system that is fully removable. I ran 6B&S cable from the battery, under the centre console and through to the passenger compartment. This then connects via Anderson plug to my setup which includes a Redarc BCDC1220IGN, 6 outlet fuse block and ignition switched relay to power everything.

The ignition wire was picked up from the rear 12v outlet and then run under the rear scuff plate, down the left hand side of the car and into the passenger compartment. Coming back from there is 12AWG cable into an anderson plug that connects into a portable power pack. Took the car for a run today to test it out and works a treat.

Cheers
Warren

So what battery did you use and where is it mounted?

A 120ah portable power pack that I can just put in the back when I need to. I may look at options for permanently mounting a second battery later (no idea where though), but for now the system suits me as I only need the second battery occasionally as I still use my Pajero for towing my van and travelling.

Edit: The Pajero already has a dual battery setup and I through in the portable pack for some extra juice if going on an extended trip, so I like the option of being able to switch it between cars.
