Correct Snorkle for KJ

Guys

Hear is my opinon on Air Snorkles DON'T purchase AirFlow go Safari. Had Airflow installed 3 years ago by Jeep specialist at Brendale. The rubber pipe between snorkle and air box has split twice, had poor engine performance (No Torque) thought it was just my engine however after another 4x4 shop looked at it the hose between the snorkle and airbox was kinked not allowing sufficent air flow

New safari snorkle like a new jeep unbelieveable

It was the install mate my KJ has a prototype airflow installed many years ago and it has never given me an issue check the install date on ausjeep snorkel thread

Correct Snorkle for KJ

I agree with Fouros, it was the installation . I've had an Airflow on mine for years - bought it about 2 years after they released it and when it was the only snork available for the KJ and its been fine.

The Jeep guy who installed it did say that it was a bit of a b*gger to fit - not because of the snork itself, but the layout of the KJ's external and internal bodywork before you get to the airbox - basically the pipe goes through the outer wing and then an "inner wing" before it gets to the airbox; if the installer doesn't get the holes aligned just right you get a restriction. Apparently he also had to allow for a tiny bit of flex between them and also for the fact that the engine bay in the KJ does not have much room to fiddle around. He told me that fitting a snork to a JK, TJ etc was a doddle by comparison - the KJ took over twice as long.

I'd just add that the plastic has not discoloured or deteriorated at all. I have been asked about it many times, and a lot of people have commented on it very favourably.

Unfortunately mine was bent nearly 90 degrees and the hose was touching the lip of the air filter lid thus adding vibration it just kept spliting. There is no way I could see it being a clean connection from snorkle to air box however with the safari they use a silicon type radiator hose very clean very nonrestrictive.
Anyhow happy with the setup and threw the other away
