diesel leek from top of fuel filter

hi guys I have a 2007 CRD that has started leeking from the top of the fuel filter coming out of what looks like a sensor with wires that go into the housing, I believe that the sensor on the bottom is the water sensor & the one on the top is the heater sensor.
## has anyone had this issue ?.
## is there a quick cheap fix as we dont need the heater here in QLD ?.
## or is it a typical:-
Just
Empty
Every
Pocket scenario.
cheers piggy.

problem found.
the heater sensor had malfunctioned (apparently happens a bit in warmer climates) it heated up that much melting wires & damaging the housing causing fuel leak. replaced housing $300 & have now disconnected the heater sensor on the fuel filter (just unplugged it) no warning signs or codes have appeared.
if you have a CRD you may consider unplugging this sensor.

Where did you source a new filter housing from?
That seems way cheap
