Rear Storage for TJ, opinions?

Making up a lockable storage compartment that can safely be used for when the top is off.
It will eventually have a gas strut for each of the lids and be powdercoated black with snazy lockable handles.

Any thoughts?

You know what would be cool....same thing but a set of roller drawers in it. And cover it in marine carpet

Yeah, put in some sliding drawers and I'll be first in line to buy one.

How about a fridge slide? or some recessed tie down points on the top?

Hey Lexx - talk to Allan Loversidge (MJOC member who won the tyres) - he is a metal worker and made up a storage box using the original back seat mounts to hold it down, so if he needs to carry passengers, he can just slot the seat back in. PM me if you want his details

Thanx PK.

OK I'm trying to make something here that will be lower than 800, and with roller draws there isn't a hope in hell ;)

So you guys would prefer marine carpet and not powdercoated, interesting.

So apart from that any other likes/dislikes?

The thought on carpet is that when you are chucking stuff around in the cab it will no doubt start chipping the powdercoat. Whereas carpet will be much more durable and feel more homely >:)

How about a half size that could be used with the split rear seat.
