Help get Silicon boost hoses in production!
 

Hey everyone, long time no post.

Right now us US CRD owners(small group with only 12,000 diesels sold in the US, CRD=Rare) are pushing samco to produce silicon boost hoses for our KJs.

So far we have gotten confirmation that the US and AUS 2.8 CRD KJS use the same boost hoses(aka CAC hoses).

Samco has responded favorably and they seem to have responded that there is enough interest from the US market alone to produce hoses, it would be nice if you could show some interest in them as well to help along production.

Also here are your AUS part numbers and prices:
55038729AA - Inlet CAC - AUD$461
55037730AD - Outlet CAC - AUD$429

This compared to the US parts and prices:
55038729AA - Inlet CAC - $66(shop price)
55037730AD - Outlet CAC - $72.19(shop price)

So for anyone needing to replace either CAC hose the silicon ones would potentially be priced much cheaper than buying the OEM hoses down under.

Drop a line here letting me know if you nagged em about some replacements!

Received the below email from Samco re these hose today. Looks they are nearing full prouction.



"Subject: SamcoSport Jeep liberty CRD Hoses


Hello Guys,

Thank you for all your interest in hoses for the Jeep liberty CRD, we have just finished our first prototype set of hoses for this vehicle which are being sent out this week for evaluation.

As soon as we have the OK from the customer who is trying these hoses production will commence.

The O/E hoses suffer from oil contamination which is detrimental to the hoses; therefore the SamcoSport replacement hose kit will have a Fluro liner inside the bore giving further protection to the hose, the liner will increase cost on the hoses slightly but will further enhance the performance of the Silicone hose.
Thank you for your patience while these tests are being undertaken, I have included a photo of the hose kit that will be available shortly.

How will we be able to buy these in Australia? Is there a local distributor?

I presume once the hose becomes a full production model it will just be a matter of ordering it from them or if not direct from the US.
